The director of Destination France determines the date of the jury interview of candidates.
After the jury has selected the winner(s), the director of Destination France is notified. He, in turn, personally notifies the winner(s).
A certificate of participation is sent to each member of the class of Destination France. A letter is sent to the school principal of each Destination France class member, commending the student’s high level of academic achievement. That level of achievement will have already been determined by the student’s performance on the exam of Le Grand Concours.
A confirmation letter is sent to the recipient(s) so that they may confirm their intent to go to France during the summer and live with a French family for three weeks. The recipient must commit to a three-week stay in France or else forfeit the scholarship.

About Monsieur Boutin

- Claude Gérard Boutin has been a teacher and the school director of the Alliance française from 1980 through 1995 in the United States. He is now a French teacher and the Head of the Department of Foreign Languages at Fort Bend Baptist Academy in Sugar Land, Texas. Claude Boutin has been developing the ORCA program since 1986 and sees it as a wonderful tool for allowing our American and French students to better understanding. American teachers of French have also gone to France through the ORCA program. Claude Gérard Boutin is a past president of the American Association of Teachers of French (AATF) in the Houston Area, and is a Texas Foreign Language Association (TFLA) member as well. He was awarded the title of Knight of the “Palmes académiques” (French Academic Palms) from the French Government in 1993, and awarded again Officer of the “Palmes académiques” in 2007, for his education achievements and promotion of the French language and culture. He was named the USA's AATF 2005 French Teacher of the Year. Also, he was named the TFLA 2006 Teacher of the Year.
